Chance to show culinary skills

BAHRAIN's annual cooking competition will be held on April 20 at the Indian Club. The event, which begins at 9.30am, will have gastronomic expert and consultant from New York, Vikas Khanna, as the judge.

Mr Khanna is the executive chef of Salam Bombay, an Indian restaurant in New York.

The competition is being organised by Association of Mar Ivanios College Old Students (Amicos) and is open to women of all nationalities.

All clubs in Bahrain are also urged to send as many participants as they can.

The cooking competition will held in five categories - salads, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, desserts and healthy meals. Each category will have two winners.

Participants can take part in a maximum of two cooking categories.

Each item must be prepared to cater to a minimum four people.

On April 18, participants and members of Amicos and Indian Club are invited to attend a special evening with Mr Khanna at 8pm at the club.

Meanwhile, Amicos is also organising a flower arrangement contest for children aged 10 to 16.

The competition will be held at the Indian Club on April 20, from 10.30am. Participants should to do the flower arrangement at the venue.
